Help Wanted Signs That Will Have You Laughing And Applying At The Same Time
Typically, Help Wanted signs are a bit boring. But these companies decided catering to people's sense of humor would capture potential employees' attention! And, folks, they were right!
From bland graphic designer signs to misspelled editor listings, here are some help wanted ads that might have you applying solely for the laughs.
Large Feet Only
When it comes to finding good help for a very specific product, this company seems to know what they're doing. Who else but large-footed people would be good at stomping on grapes?
Of course, it's not the hardest job in the world, so other non-large-footed people are probably just as qualified.
....Obviously
Either this company has a very dry sense of humor, or they really don't know how to be creative. Then again, they are showcasing how desperately they're in need of a graphic designer, considering they did nothing more than type out "we need a graphic designer."
Well, yea, by the looks of it, that statement is obvious.
The Ad Knows What It's Talking About
People have to give props where they're due. In this case, it's the clever creativity this company did in order to let prospective employees know that they are in desperate need of an editor.
They literally took it upon themselves to misspell not only editor but also wanted! Well, we hope it was on purpose.
Hopefully, Dave, Doesn't Think It's Too Soon
While they might be hiring someone new, at least Wendy's is letting ex-employee Dave know that he will be missed.
Clearly, Dave was a fantastic worker if the fast-food restaurant felt the need to write a farewell note before letting people know they're actually hiring for a position. Either that or the entire thing is one giant sarcastic goodbye.
Well, This Ad Took A Drastic Turn
"Help Wanted" ads are usually pretty straightforward, letting people know that a company is actively hiring and need people asap. Well, this company took that generic template and decided to put a twist on it.
We present to you the company that is actively firing its employees and needs new people stat!
The Company That Tells You Exactly What You're Applying For
The job description doesn't sound good at all, especially the "jerk boss" portion, but you have to hand it to a company that tells you how it is and is super straightforward with what is going to happen in the workplace.
Even so, is a job at Toyz worth the low pay, bad hours, and jerk boss? Probably not.
When Hannibal Lecter Is In Charge Of The Sign
Unfortunately, for the hiring staff at Wendy's, they really should have had a second opinion when it came to their sign. It reads as though they're talking about putting people in their food and not about the friendly staff!
Seriously, find the employees who did this because they might be Hannibal Lecter.
But Do They Have Good Work Ethic?
Hey, this company is clearly all about equal employment opportunities, even if that means hiring some fried turkeys' to get the job done. The only thing the hiring staff should be worried about is if the turkeys have a solid work ethic or if they're going to slack off and sit around in a fryer.
Pretty Much, Don't Be A Scarecrow
The funny thing about this restaurant's hiring sign is that they must have had a pretty bad employee to outright say a new hire "must have a brain." What did the person do?
Did they throw the trash on the grill and the fresh produce at customers? Whatever it was, it was enough to warrant the sign!
What If The Dino just Wanted A Job?
Oh, the '90s and early 2000s were quite a time to be alive. Blockbuster Video was alive and well, and dinosaurs were roaming the streets dressed as humans looking for jobs.
Thankfully, this person realized they were speaking to a dino before actually hiring them onto the staff. Of course, it begs the question as to how the person didn't know they were speaking to a prehistoric animal.
They Are Very Adamant About A Few Things...
Nothing says, "we've had horrible employees in the past who like nothing more than to backtalk their higher-ups and cry when things don't go their way. Oh, and they can't read their schedule" quite like this "apply today" sign.
Seriously, they even have an acronym for shutting your mouth! This company isn't messing around.
Forget Everything Else And Just Read The Highlighted Parts
The best part about this Help Wanted sign is that the company decided to type up a little paragraph and highlight only two things -- work hard and don't cry!
While the highlighter catches the eye, the rest of the ad shouldn't be overlooked, considering how much the company is bashing the girl who just quit or got fired.
This Is Called Irony
The now hiring sign for the truck company is pretty straightforward. It's just the fact that a truck driver who was probably going to apply for the job somehow managed to overturn their truck right outside the building and next to the sign.
We're going to go out on a limb and say he's probably not going to get the job.
A New Kind Of Help Wanted Sign
At least this company is very open about what kind of help they are looking for. It isn't the normal kind of help, but help from customers. Apparently, they really need people to come in and buy their products!
Hopefully, this creative and funny sign worked out for them, and they got some people into their store.
Proficient In English Was So Last Year
Typically, a job listing will have "proficient in English." That little line was apparently not enough for this specific company. They want their prospective employees to not only be proficient in the language but absolutely dominate it!
Hey, they know what they want, and it doesn't look as though they're going to take anything less!
Punctuation Would Have Made A Difference
While we understand where Subway and Bojangle's are going with their now hiring sign, it would have done them a world of good to space things out a bit better or even use some punctuation.
Well, unless they were actually looking to hire sausage biscuits to work in the kitchen.
Right Now!
Amazingly, this company so desperately needs people to work for them right now that they didn't even have room on the huge banner to tell people anything about the position.
The only thing this sign indicates is that they are hiring right now, and they need people now, and they should apply now. Did we mention everything is happening now?
Their Expectations Are Very High
Clearly, this company doesn't really have too high of expectations when it comes to a new employee. All they ask is that they have a clue as to what they are doing.
Well, not even a clue, just "clue." Here's to hoping the job is for an editor of some kind.
Tired Of $9? Here's A Job That Pays Less!
Okay, so people have to hand it to this company because they capitalized the part they wanted prospective employees to focus on -- the fact that they're probably tired of only getting paid $9.75 an hour.
The thing is, if they keep reading, they'll learn that this particular listing is for a job that, wait for it, pays less!
The "Skeletor" Bit Is On There For A Reason
Not allowing people who look like Skeletor to apply for a cashier position shouldn't be too hard, considering the character is a literal skeleton. This thing is, they put that little tidbit on the Now Hiring sign for a reason.
Either they had someone wearing a Skeletor costume apply, or there is already an employee working there who just so happens to be horrified of the character. The world may never know.
