People Are Recreating Photos From Their Childhood And It’s Beyond Wholesome
We all have those family photos somewhere in an album in our parents' closet or basement where we think 'why does this photo exist?" It might be you and your siblings stark-naked in the backyard or you mid-scream on Halloween, but it just makes you wonder why your parents chose that moment to snap a photo.
Now, much to the internet's delight, people are digging out those old, weird, silly photos and choosing to recreate them as adults.
Dad's Mood Is Still The Same
Dad got his facial expression just right for this photo.
It's almost like he is still as unimpressed with having to be in this picture as he was back then...
Still Dangerous
This is one of those times where adults recreating something they did as a child seems far more dangerous for the grown-ups in this situation.
If either of those grown children come toppling down it's going to be a lot worse than back when they weighed 50 pounds...
Whose Role Is Better?
One brother in this situation really drew the short straw in this situation.
If you don't know, it's the one that didn't get to eat the ice cream cone.
That's Gotta Hurt
Whether that's a t-shirt or a pair of underwear, that's definitely got to hurt, which explains the look on this kid's face.
It was probably pretty easy to recreate that expression. He also got that front leg position just right.
50 Years Later...
This photo just goes to show that if you take good care of something, whether that's your marriage or your car, it can last for fifty years.
And look better than it ever did before!
It Was Only The Beginning
It looks like neither of them knew what they were getting themselves into in the beginning, and they're still not quite sure what's going on...
But at least they have each other!
Nailed It
Everything about this photo is perfect. It makes you wonder how long it took to organize a photo like this. You have to make sure everyone has the right clothing, understands which way to turn, and knows how to wear their hair.
The photographer probably loves getting to take these though and would definitely help in getting it just right.
The Glow-Up We Needed
The dog glow up is all we care about here. Look at his face - he knows he deserves to be carried.
That dog has been treated like a king his whole life, as he should be.
What Do You Want?
We're curious what situation brought this little boy to this point.
His face looks like he had a question to ask his parents, and we want to know what it was.
The Aftermath
You know that in both cases, this boy definitely shoved his feet into his siblings' faces after this picture was taken.
Look at the smile on his face. You know we're right.
The Love Of A Grandparent...
This is the most heartwarming photo. A granddaughter and grandfather have taken a series of photos over the years, always with the granddaughter in a red dress.
She couldn't resist sharing on Twitter and you can see why.
From 1999 to 2014
Though these boys nailed the pose, sadly they younger boy was not able to wear the full outfit because it has since been donated.
The boys also shared on Reddit that their mom "insists" the outfit was red, not pink, but they disagree.
Saying Goodbye To Their Beloved
The story behind this one is seriously sweet.
These girls had to put down their family dog after 16 years, so the day before they said goodbye, they recreated their favorite photo with their dog.
Like Father, Like Son
All that's changed in twenty years is that the Tom Selleck mustache has — sadly — disappeared, but everything else is as it should be, perfect.
Their wife/mom must be so proud of her son following in her husband's footsteps.
No Paternity Test Needed
You can't deny genetics right? Both the dads and the babies in these photos look practically identical but there's actually three generations represented here! The top photo is now-grandad at age 29 and his son at 2 weeks old, the bottom photo is now-dad at 29 and his son at 2 weeks old.
How wholesome is this? Plus Mickey has made it through all this time.
One Of Them Had A Harder Job Here
This is an impressive feat of athleticism. It takes a lot of work to stand on a tiny ledge like that with normal adult sized feet.
The boy standing on the ground had a way easier pose in this one.
100% Commitment
Commitment to these photos is what really makes it, and these boys seriously committed.
From the poses right down to the flipper position, 35 years later they're still killing it!
Sibling Love
It makes you wonder what those three older siblings did to their little sister to make her this sad, and if they had to do it again to help her recreate it.
You know, for the art.
Mom Definitely Loved This Present
These three brothers decided as a present to their mother for Mother's Day they'd recreate her favorite photo.
They absolutely nailed it from the clothing to the poses to their expressions.
Some Things Never Change
The youngest boy is what seals the deal for this picture, for sure. He's the real star of the show.
They really nailed it on those clothing choices as well, so shout out to whoever organized that part of it.
Laser Focus
The boys in this photo really nailed the expression. Look at the concentration he needed to pick apart the hamburger and the concern over someone taking a picture while he was trying to eat a slice of pizza.
They crushed it.
A Juggling Act
This is another one of those photos that was definitely a lot easier and a lot safer to pull off when the children weighed less than 60 pounds, combined.
No wonder dad had to have that back foot on the ground to balance.
Risky Business
Risky Business in the flesh right here.
Every child has seen an embarrassing photo of themselves like this tucked away in a photo album in the basement but this girl was a good sport about it and is willing to show it to the world, unlike the rest of us.
It Still Fits!
Though it may have taken a couple of adjustments, these boys were able to squeeze into their costumes for the sake of art, and probably their parents' entertainment.
Now they have a photo to put in their wedding slideshows!
Mom's Anti-Aging Cream Is Definitely Working
This mom must be a wizard or know where the fountain of youth is located because she literally hasn't aged since the first photo was taken in 1988.
She is the female Benjamin Button.
The Best Retirement Present
Nearly 30 years later, a father and his eldest son recreated one of the dad's favorite photos just before his retirement.
Everyone on Reddit is trying to figure out what the dad's secret is considering he's barely aged in the last 30 years...
They Got The Facial Expressions Down
It looks like that bathtub may have shrunk in the last twenty years or someone got bigger.
There seems to be a lot less room than there originally was.
A Few Things Have Changed
Exactly 20 years after the original photo was taken, these three brothers went back to the same photograph so they could recreate this photo for their parents.
Do you think they were cold in those overalls?
It's Vintage
A father and son in 2018 recreated the same photo the boy's grandfather and father had taken 38 years earlier.
The dad confirmed that his mom saved the outfit all this time so he could do this, which makes it way better.
A Mandatory Trip To Disneyland
The genius of this photo recreation is that the son was able to convince his dad to take him to Disneyland as an adult and claim that it was for a sentimental moment.
Totally worth it. And his Dad has hardly aged!
